Look out for the new QIA STEM Programme that will be launched in Autumn 2008. If you are a teacher of Science, Engineering or Mathematics, we want to encourage you to become a member of the national community of teachers of STEM subjects currently engaged in the Teaching and Learning Programme. You can participate by:
- becoming a Subject Learning Coach for STEM
- becoming an E-Guide
- joining Networks, peer and community activities.
Could you become a Subject Learning Coach in a STEM subject?
Subject Learning Coaches are teachers who have received training in coaching in general and with specific reference to Science, Engineering and Mathematics. They have a special set of skills to bring to their organisations.
Subject Learning Coaches can be used in a variety of ways: as coaches, as agents of change and as champions of innovative approaches to professional development. This can be within their subject area or more widely in their establishments.
